The Hatz 1B engine is one of the sturdiest compact engines. This is obvious to anyone who has ever worked with a Hatz. However, to preserve its enormous ruggedness and durability, you have to inspect the engines regularly and carry out maintenance. We have summarized what you need to know about the 1B engine maintenance plans.

The most important in advance: Can you find the Hatz maintenance sticker (see above) on your engine or machine? Then you have at one glance a good overview of the maintenance intervals required to get the best out of your 1B engine. The different shapes of the symbols indicate at what intervals the various measures have to be carried out and where you can find the components on the 1B engine that you should take care of. Incidentally: We are speaking here of the standard maintenance plan of mechanically regulated 1B engines. Other maintenance intervals could be relevant if you have an engine that requires special maintenance. You can determine this in the maintenance plan of your machine.

At any rate, you should also regularly consult your maintenance plan. Keeping track of all maintenance intervals is essential. You can find the maintenance plan in the instructions for your engine, which you can download from the Hatz homepage in the download area.

To ensure you take all of the points of the maintenance plan into account, we have summarized the points often forgotten here:

  • every 8–15 operating hours or every day before starting your 1B engine
    • check the oil level and the lower part of the oil bath air filter for contamination
    • empty the dust collection hopper (if you use a cyclone pre-separator)
  • check the water separator weekly
  • every 250 operating hours
  • change the external fuel filter and air filter every 500 operating hours
  • clean the oil filter every 1000 operating hours

We have described how you perform the individual steps step-by-step in the engine instructions. Clear illustrations make it easy for you to find and apply the right points and tricks. To make it even easier for you in future to keep your Hatz 1B engine in shape, we provide you with how-to videos on this page. For example, you will soon find a video here on setting the tappet clearance. These videos make it child's play to carry out the maintenance plan yourself. These will ensure you still get a lot of enjoyment from your Hatz 1B engine. Incidentally: If you do not want to miss any of these videos, simply register here for our Parts Store Newsletter. .

To prevent you having to look around for the spare parts you need yourself, we have put together maintenance kits in our shop. The correct filters and gaskets for your 1B engine are already available here in one package. Alternatively, you can look for "maintenance kit" or the type name of your engine using the search function and will be shown directly the correct parts kit matching the maintenance plan. And last of all, we have also put the maintenance intervals for the respective parts in the specifications.
