Happy birthday, and many more! Our Hatz Parts Store turns 1 today, and for its birthday we’re looking back at the gestation phase and its “birth”—and also giving you a preview of what we’re planning for the coming year.

Starting an online store seems like a pretty run-of-the-mill idea at first. But at Hatz, we wanted to go one step further. That’s why we designed the Hatz Parts Store as an open store from the very start. What does that mean? Well, anyone can order from the Parts Store. No company account or registration is required. We want to simplify things for our customers, not least when it comes to finding original parts for maintenance and repair.

But there was a lot of preparation to be done before the “go-live” on October 12, 2021. During the initial planning stage, we worked on a study project with marketing students from Munich University of Applied Sciences, which meant we were able to incorporate cutting-edge concepts into the design of our Parts Store. Since last July, we’ve been using our photo system to show visual representations of all products in the online store. Currently, our store system has more than 1,000 product photos. An original part that needs to be replaced can be directly compared with the one shown in the Parts Store, making online shopping more convenient. It also feels a lot more modern than trawling through text-only lists of spare parts.

After a lot of work optimizing the organizational structure and the IT system, we began operations on the date in October that we just mentioned. The online store was initially limited to the German and Austrian markets. We have significantly increased the geographic range since the end of May: since then, the Hatz Parts Store has been accepting orders from almost all European countries. And we've been offering overnight shipping since September. That makes for greatly reduced machine downtime.

We’re all about keeping you up to date, so we’ve had Hatz Lifetime accounts on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook since the middle of the year. Keep up with us on these channels to stay up to date with the amazing ways Hatz products are being used, while also getting all the news about the Parts Store alongside maintenance advice and expert knowledge.

And that’s how we got to where we are today. What can you expect in the coming weeks and months? To start with, you can experience the Parts Store live and in-person. We’ll be showing off our service products at the Hatz booth at Bauma in Munich. From October 24 to 30, you can learn more about the Parts Store and many other Hatz services at booth 440 in Hall A4. Come by—we’re looking forward to seeing you!

We will be working to link our European offices to the Parts Store in the upcoming months. This greatly expedites the international sourcing and shipping of Hatz original parts. And as mentioned, we’re all about making your life as easy as possible. We're very excited about the features we will be introducing in the coming year.
